This review should be read with the understanding that I've not read a lot of erotic novels, that said, what I write about is more about the story than the hot, steamy sex in the book.... Nina Pierce has masterly created a book that is both hot and steamy, while being fun to read. The story doesn't get lost to the romantic scenes. The characters are believable and honest. I felt for Julie as I was reading about her family dynamics- it was something that could have been in any family. I absolutely love Damon, everyone needs a good bad boy sometimes. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat as you race along with Julie and Damon, while Julie tries to figure out just what happened to Jason. I hope that there are more perfect blends like this from Pierce in the future. Spot on! Check out her website:http://www.ninapierce.com/ Add Comment Review for Underdead by Liz Jasper 11/23/2011
Liz Jasper really takes the modern vampire and spins it on its head with this book. Her story is unique, original, and a great read. The characters are real, and could easily be people that you are neighbors with. I love the fact that Jo is a science teacher and who wouldn't want a Gavin in their life? It was an excellent paced book. I highly recommend it. I cannot wait to read the next one. I hope that she continues to write more with Jo and Gavin in the future! PJ Sharon has captured the angst of the teenage heart between adulthood and childhood while dealing with the issues of death. Sharon's characters are original and very true to their nature. This book could easily happen in real life. She has done an excellent job at creating her world. The way Sharon handles the issues that surround a death that leaves questions in the mind is perfect and spot on. This is a great book and should be read by anyone that has had to deal the uncertainties of the teenage heart or dealing with death as a teen. Excellent job, Sharon! I could not put this book down. When I had to take a break from reading, I kept thinking about- wondering what happened next. Woolf truly captures her characters in a believable way. They are real and the reader easily feels for them as they go along their story. The story is a great sci-fi book with a romantic twist- I would not call it just another romance novel because I feel that the romance aspect is just part of the story (even if they are delicious scenes!). Woolf throws you right into the story, pacing it perfectly and mixing in turns that leave the reader wanting more. I cannot wait until I read the next in the series! Keep them coming, Woolf! check out her website at: www.cynthiawoolf.com |
